Requirements for FLA Membership

  • All families - completion of a teacher contract (including a curriculum plan for each student) at the beginning of the school year and a 180-day form (necessary for FLA’s Department of Education  report) at the end of the school year.

  • First year families - attendance at a portfolio workshop (in August), two portfolio reviews with an FLA advisor (1 in  January and 1 in May), and two typed report cards (January, May) [portfolio review and report card guidelines]

  • Families with high school students – a yearly updated transcript for each high school student and a yearly credit check with an FLA advisor (in May), as well as typed year-end report cards for any students not yet in high school.  The first year a family has a high school student in FLA, a parent must attend a high school workshop (in August)

  • Returning families with no high school students - typed report cards for each student at the end of the school year
